UNSW Sydney

History

World War II brought to Australia it’s own brand of problems, in particular it demanded from the country a heavier investment into science and technology, after all the new inventions of the war proved the critical role these areas would play into the future, as a result the government of New South Wales issued a proposal that would lead to the foundation of the New South Wales University of Technology.

The institution would later rename itself to the University of New South Wales, to properly reflect it’s change to a more general and less specialized institution. Come the present day the institution has made a name for itself due to it’s multiple research facilities, amongst them the largest cancer research institute in the country, Lowy Cancer Research Centre.
