McGill University

History

Originally known as the Royal Institution for the Advancement of Learning, the college was created in 1801 with the authorization to operate two Royal Schools. It’s change to the name of McGill University was done in honor of James McGill, who through his will granted McGill University the estate it used for it’s current campus.

Admission requirements

When it comes to McGill University, R-Scores are a huge part of the admission process, while this might sound confusing at first, it’s actually not that complicated, R-Scores are a system used in Canada to measure students performance, and officially it is described as such:

R score = ( (Zcol x IDGZ) + ISGZ + C ) x D , where C = D = 5

However at the end it’s quite simply a multiplied standard score, and as such obtaining it is a s simple as writing down your scores in an online R-Score calculator.

R-Scores are used as a replacement for cut-off percentage, and the required ones are listed on each course.
